We're Just People Who Know Dartmouth Well

No estate agent agenda. No developer sponsorship. Just honest writing about property in a town we genuinely love.

Our Story

How This Blog Came About

A few years ago, two of us moved to Dartmouth within months of each other β€” one renting on a fixed budget, one trying to buy without any idea of what the local market was actually like. We both spent weeks trawling Rightmove, reading vague agency blurbs, and asking anyone who'd listen which streets were worth looking at and which landlords to avoid.

There wasn't really anywhere that gave you that kind of honest, practical information in one place. Property websites showed listings. Local forums were chaotic. Estate agent blogs were β€” as you'd expect β€” essentially sales brochures.

So we started writing it ourselves. First as notes for friends who were also looking to move to the area, then as a proper blog when we realised the same questions kept coming up from strangers too.

We're not estate agents, we're not developers, and we don't take payments to write positive things about specific properties or agencies. If something is good, we say so. If it isn't, we say that too.

🏑 Local Knowledge

Dartmouth is a small town β€” most estate agents here know most landlords personally. That's why independent, unaffiliated information matters. We have no commercial relationships with any agency operating in the area.
